Demonstration in Babel demanding to cancel Parliament MPs’ pensions

Babel, Hilla (IraqiNews.com) Members of the Lawyers Syndicate organized a demonstration in front of Hilla Appeal Court demanding to cancel the pensions of the members of the Parliament and Babel Provincial Council.The correspondent of IraqiNews.com reported that ”The demonstrators raised slogans in which they accused the three presidencies of wasting public fund which is the reason behind State Budget depletion.”

Thousands of citizens from all Iraqi provinces are preparing to organize demonstrations on next Saturday 31st of August demanding to cancel the pensions of the members of the Parliament and Provincial Councils.

”The demonstrators considered the Parliament members pensions as illegal and they threaten to suspend their work in Babel courts and other associated directorates,” the correspondent added.

”The protesters declared that they will continue in staging sit-in in case the Parliament and the Provincial Councils did not respond for their demands,” the correspondent concluded.
