Babel Police impose strict security measures coinciding with demonstrations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Police Directorate of Babel province imposed strict security measures coinciding with the demonstrations calling for canceling the pensions of the parliament members.

A source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Babel PD blocked all the entries of Hilla city starting from this morning till 2:00 p.m. to avoid any violent actions in the demonstrations.”

“The manifest cars and the people arriving from other provinces were banned from enter the city where dozens of the cars and families are waiting near the checkpoints,” the source added.

“The measures included increasing the fixed and mobile checkpoints near the governmental institutions close to the demonstrations site and the Governorate building in addition to searching all those joining the demonstrations,” the source concluded.
