Kurdistan Region PM, UAE Consul-General discuss promoting joint interests

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of Iraq’s Kurdistan region met Rashid Mohammed Al Mansouri, UAE Consul General in Erbil City.

A statement by PUK received by IraqiNews.com cited “PM thanked the UAE leadership and government for upgrading the UAE’s diplomatic representation in the region to the Consulate General welcoming the appointment of UAE’s first Consul-General in the region.”

“During the meeting, Mr. Barzani and Mr. Al Mansouri exchanged views on how best to promote the joint interests. He also expressed readiness to provide all facilities to help the UAE Consul-General discharge his duties,” the statement added.

“During the meeting, they discussed common interests and ways of development and the mechanism of a plan to strengthen economic and trade partnership between the UAE and the region being a commercial gateway to Iraq and the economic capital WAM/ES,” the statement concluded.
