MP emphasizes Basra Governor’s exclusive right in nominating Police Commander

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mansour al-Timimi, of the State of Law Coalition emphasized Basra Governor’s exclusive right in nominating the new Police Commander in the province.

Speaking to IraqiNews.com, he said “Only the Governor, Majid al-Nasrawi, is authorized to nominate the new Commander and Basra PC has the right to vote over the candidate.”

“The new law of the Provincial Council prevented the Federal Government to interfere in nominating police commanders in the provinces,” he added.

Earlier, Basra PC called, in a press conference on last Wednesday, the Ministry of Interior to nominate three figures to substitute the former Police Commander.
