Sadr calls OIC to hold urgent meeting to end sectarian sedition between Sunni, Shiite

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, called the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to hold an urgent meeting to set efficient solution to end the sectarian sedition between Sunni and Shiite Muslims.

In a speech that he delivered to Iraqis on Saturday, he said “Depending on religious and humanitarian basis, I call Iraqis to give the priority for the general interests.”

“Targeting Sunni sect will lead us to unidentified fate and we should preserve the unity of Iraq,” he added.

“Targeting Sunni people is not targeting terrorists who behead the innocent,” he stressed.

“We urge the scholars of both sects and the scholars of Azhar Mosque to speed up their efforts to end this sedition,” he concluded.

It is worth that mosques in Baghdad and other provinces are subject to attacks by unidentified armed groups.
