FM meets his Saudi, Qatari counterparts

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) In the framework of the meetings conducted by Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari on the sidelines of the sixty eighth session of the General Assembly in New York, the Minister met on September 23, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Saudi Al-Faisal, the Saudi Foreign Minister.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by IraqiNews.com cited “The two sides reviewed Iraqi – Saudi relations in the political, economic and trade fields and the need to activate them in a way that helps to overcome the obstacles that might hinder this process, and the importance of taking action to facilitate trade between the two countries.”

“The Minister also met on the same day, Mr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, the Qatari Foreign Minister, and discussed with him brotherly relations between the two countries and ways of strengthening them,” the statement added.

“The two sides also discussed the political process in Iraq and the ongoing preparations for the legislative elections to be held in Iraq in April next year and its role in ending the violence and achieve political stability,” the statement concluded.
