Helicopter shot down northern Beiji

Salah-il-Din (IraqiNews.com) The crew of military helicopter from the Iraqi Army was killed when gunmen managed to shot it directly and forced it to fall down on Wednesday in Beiji district of northern Tikrit.

Security source reported to Iraqi News IraqiNews.com Wednesday “A force from the IA conducted on Wednesday morning a raid-search operation in Sukariya area of western Beiji district of northern Tikrit,” noting that “The operation ended with armed clashes between the gunmen in the area and the IA force.”

“The clashes resulted in killing four members of the helicopter crew after falling it down and injuring three IA elements,” the source added.

Security forces transported the injuries to the hospital for treatment and the dead bodies to the morgue, the source concluded.
