IS MP: Announcing emergency at current time, against democracy

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Raad al-Dahlaki, of the Iraqiya Slate stated that announcing the emergency at the current time in Iraq is against democracy and the political process.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “There is no benefit over announcing the emergency situation because we had it for the last ten years and nothing changed,” noting that “There are no authorities for the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to announce the emergency situation.”

“Announcing the emergency state at the current time is against the democracy and hindering the political process,” he concluded.
