Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) The Mayor of Samarra district survived an assassination attempt while four persons were killed due to an explosion of an Improvised Explosive Device to the south of Tikrit city.Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The IED, which exploded targeting the motorcade of Samarra district’s Mayor, Mahmoud Khalaf Ahmed, resulted in killing a bodyguard of Khalaf and a child who was accidently nearby the explosion area, while another bodyguard and the father of the child were wounded due to the explosion.””The security forces blocked off the explosion area transporting the corpses to the morgue and the wounded people to the hospital for treatment,” the source concluded.
