Laban describes Maliki’s visit to USA as "Important"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Sadiq al-Laban, of the State of Law Coalition described the visit of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to the United States of America as “Important.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The US side is interested in fighting terrorism and it has a clear stance in supporting the Iraqi government where there is a Strategic Pact between the two sides to eliminate terrorism,” noting that “Maliki’s visit to America is important because it will tackle the means of activating the Strategic Pact and the regional situation such as the ongoing Syrian crisis,” he acknowledged.

“It is not for the interest of America to set conditions on Iraq for supporting it because it helped in changing the regime,” he pointed out, assuring that “There are no conditions by the US side on Iraq.”
