New Zealand ends United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq

New Zealand ends mission within UNAMI in Iraq
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Defense of New Zealand announced the end of its task within the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq which includes one officer to remove mines.

The task continued for eight years.

The task was resumed on January 2005 since New Zealand withdrew its mission from Baghdad after the terrorist explosion that targeted the Qanat Hotel in Baghdad in 2003 which resulted in Killing 21 persons and dozens injuries, including an officer from the New Zealand Defense Forces.
