Nusayif criticizes Kurdish request for compensation over wars of former regime

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aliya Nusayif, of the Hurra Iraqiya Bloc criticized the requests of some Kurdish officials to get compensation over the actions of the former regime.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, she said “Unfortunately, some Kurdish officials request 350 Million USD as compensation to the wars of the former regime to be taken from 2014 budget,” noting that “By this request, they show that Kurdistan Region is not a part of Iraq and they should not ask for their share in the Iraqi natural resources.”

“We hoped the Kurdish officials to support us by requesting Kuwait to compensate Iraq over allowing the US Troops to enter Iraq and the damage that they caused to the infrastructure and the governmental institutions,” she added, assuring that “We also hope them to request the security companies worked in Iraq to compensate the Iraqi victims that they killed.”

“The Kurdish officials have to support the Iraqi rights and ask for them from the international community,” she concluded.
