Shihristani: New electric units to join service next year

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Premier for the Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shihristani, stated that new electric unit will join the service during the next year.

While inaugurating the third unit of Wasit Heat Electric Station in Wasit province, Shihristani said “The inauguration of this unit was planned three years ago and we started working on it since 2011 to make it the biggest electric unit in Iraq that produces 2500 Mega Watt.”

“During the next few weeks, new units will join the service,” he added, noting that “If we want to preserve this achievement, we must face terrorism because it will target these units and we all must protect them.”

“Another means to preserve the electric power is to use the electric power when necessary and not to waste it,” he concluded.
