Mayahi calls to increase military budget to face challenges

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aziz al-Mayahi, of the National White bloc called to support the military forces as much as possible by increasing the military budget while setting the next budget.

In a press statement received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The internal challenges in combating terrorism in addition to the foreign interferences that help in the penetration of the terrorists into Iraq in addition to the Syrian situation make us to develop the defense system of the military foundation to face these challenges.”

“The military equipment with the security forces cannot be compared to the developed weapons that they terrorists possess where there is no air coverage for the Iraqi security forces and their weapons are traditional,” he added, noting that “The next budget will be the biggest in the history of Iraq and we do not think that increasing the budget of the Defense Ministry to purchase helicopters and the advanced weapons, will affect the other sectors.”
