Dahlaki: “Parliament recess obligatory”

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Legal Parliamentary Committee Raad al-Dahlaki pointed out that “The performance of the Parliament will be void if it did not start its recess even if it received the 2014 General Budget law draft.”

The Council of Ministers did not send the Budget law draft yet.

Dahlaki stated to Iraqi News “We have many laws as important as the budget law draft but the constitution emphasized that the legal term cannot be extended or cancel the recess because its decisions and resolutions will be void and the Federal Government can object and refute the laws endorsed during this term.”

“The Parliament is obliged to start the recess and it can discuss the budget law draft when it is received by the Parliament but endorsing any other law draft will be void,” he concluded.
