3 IPs killed, injured northern Tikrit [11/18/2013]

Salah-il-Din (IraqiNews.com) Two police officers and a police element were either killed or injured due to an armed assault to the north of Tikrit.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com “Unidentified gunmen opened fire at a late hour of Sunday night from machine-guns towards a civilian vehicle carrying two police officers and a policeman while they were returning home in Jamila village within Shurqat district of northern Tikrit,” noting that “The assault resulted in killing an officer with a Major rank and injuring a Captain and a police element.”

A security force hurried towards the attack site and transported the injuries to the hospital for treatment and the dead body to the morgue, the source concluded.
