Iraq Vice-President UN official discuss UN support of Iraq in combating terrorism

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Vice-President, Khudhayer al-Khuzai, met the United Nations Secretary-General Deputy Special Representative for Iraq, Jan Eliasson, within the activities of the Arab-African Third Summit held in Kuwait on Tuesday.

The media office of Khuzai reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The meeting touched on means of promoting bilateral relations and several common interest issues where Eliasson confirmed the UN support to Iraq in combating terrorism.”

”The two sides discussed the Syrian crisis and assured the necessity of reaching a peaceful dialogue to stop violence due to its negative influences on stability of regional arena,” the statement added, noting that “The meeting also tackled the role of Iraq in Genève 2 Conference and the nuclear file of Iran.”
