Urgent – 7 Security elements killed, wounded north of Mosul

Nineveh, Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Seven elements of Iraqi Army and Peshmerga forces were either killed or wounded due to a suicide bombing to the north of Mosul city.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The suicide bomber detonated his car bomb targeting a joint security checkpoint of army forces and Peshmerga elements at the external entrance of touristic city (40 KM) to the north of Mosul city.”

”The explosion of the car bomb resulted in killing two Peshmerga elements and wounding two others while an army soldier was killed and two others were wounded,” noting that ”The explosion took place in a secured area near Dohuk province since the area did not witness any security breach long time ago,” the source added.

”The ambulances rushed to the explosion location transporting the dead bodies to the morgue and the wounded elements to the hospital for treatment,” the source concluded.
