Iraq, Turkey cooperate in combating terrorism

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, hosted the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Jamel Jejak, and his accompanying delegation at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday.

Maliki’s media office reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Tuesday ”The meeting tackled the means of promoting bilateral relations between Iraq and Turkey and the Syrian crisis.”

”The Turkish Speaker assured the necessity of cooperation in combating terrorism, ”stressing that “We should not disagree in combating terrorism even if we have disputes in economic or political fields since Iraq preserved its stance regarding Syrian crisis by not intervening in Syria’s internal affairs despite the difficulty of this stance,” the statement concluded.
