Shihristani, Yaldiz discuss mechanism of exporting Iraq oil through Turkish territories

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Premier, Hussein al-Shihristani, discussed with the Turkish Energy Minister, Tatar Yaldiz, the mechanism of exporting the Iraqi oil through the Turkish territories.

A statement by Shihsristani’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The two sides discussed the means of promoting the economic relations especially in the oil field in addition to the means of settling the pending issues to preserve the sovereignty of Iraq and control its natural wealth.”

“Shihristani assured the readiness of Iraq to provide Turkey with its need from the oil and gas according to the followed Iraqi principles, ensuring the Iraqis that their oil wealth is preserved and exporting its oil will not be done without the approval of the central government,” the statement added.

“For his part, Yaldiz assured that the meeting was fruitful and they discussed several subjects such as installing a pipeline in 400 KM in Basra to achieve the interests of the Iraqi and Turkish peoples,” the statement concluded.
