Maliki, Rafsanjani discuss means of settling Syrian crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki discussed and, Akbar Hashimi Rafsanjani, the Chairman of Expediency Discernment Council, discussed the Syrian crisis and means to settle it before holding Geneva 2 conference.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Maliki met with Rafsanjani, on the side of his current visit to Iran started on Wednesday.”

“Maliki confirmed that Iraq is confident in its relations with the international community and that the relations with Iraq will achieve the best levels of cooperation,” the statement added.

“Maliki also received the Iranian FM, Mohamed Jawad Dharief, where they discussed the issues of mutual concerns and they agreed canceling the need for Visas for the diplomatic officials of both countries,” the statement concluded.
