Terrorist operation foiled in Nineveh

Nineveh, Mosul (IraqiNews.com) The Governor of Nineveh province, Atheel al-Nijaifi, declared foiling an attempt to control Shura district by gunmen on Saturday.Nijaifi published on his personal facebook page that ”About (20) Qaeda gunmen attacked several security checkpoints in Shura district in an attempt to control the area.””The local police forces in cooperation with the Federal police forces cordoned the area along with other neighboring areas to prevent the gunmen from escaping to it,” noting that ”The security took long time till they managed to enter the city since the roads leading to the city were blocked by many Improvised Explosive Devices,” the statement added.”The police forces are inside the area and imposed their control completely, ” noting that ”The security operation did not results in any human casualties among the police ranks,” he concluded. \END\
