Askari: Events in Anbar not to affect date of elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Sami al-Askari of the State of Law Coalition headed by the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ruled out possibility of changing the date of holding the parliamentary elections due to current the armed events in Anbar province.

MP Askari stated to IraqiNews.com “The events in Anbar would not affect the date of the elections since the normal life will return to Anbar province soon especially after lifting the protest yards which were a locations for conducting conspiracies against Iraq.”

“The military success achieved by the Iraqi Security Forces will bring Anbar province back to normal life and stability in order to facilitate conducting the elections on the set date,” he concluded.
