Biden, Barzani discuss efforts of fighting terrorism

Follow-Up (IraqiNews.com) The US Vice-President Joe Biden discussed on a phone call with the President of Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani the efforts of fighting terrorism and necessity of reaching an agreement to divide oil revenues with the Federal Government in Baghdad.

A statement by Biden’s office mentioned on Thursday “Biden assured for Barzani the necessity of coordination among the Iraqi leaders to isolate the terrorist groups.”

The statement added “Biden encouraged Barzani as he did with the leaders in Baghdad and Ankara to find a mutual means to solve the crisis of terrorism and settle the disputes related to dividing the oil revenues.”

“Barzani agreed to continue dialogue with the Iraqi Government in order to reach an agreement to push the country forward,” according to the statement.

Biden stressed in the statement “Continuity of the US support to achieve a united federal Iraq according to Iraqi constitution.”
