Conference of Oil Producing Provinces starts in Basra

Basra (IraqiNews.com) The Conference of oil Producing Provinces started on Saturday morning to discuss the issue of the 5 Petro-dollar allocations for the oil producing provinces.

Reporter of IraqiNews.com stated “The conference that was held at Basra Hotel is attended by members of the Parliamentary Energy Committee and the local officials of the provinces that produce oil.”

“Representatives of Basra, Maysan, Kirkuk, Wasit, Dhi-Qar, Salah-il-Din, Nineveh and Baghdad provinces attended the conference,” the reporter added.

“The conference aims at reaching a unified stance towards the government’s decision to reduce the Petro-dollar allocations,” the reporter concluded.

Earlier, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, admitted the right of the oil producing provinces in the 5 Petro-dollar allocations but he said this is condition by the ability of these provinces to spend these allocations.
