Oil dispute settlement between Federal Government, Kurdistan Region urged by Shahristani

Shahristani emphasizes to settle Oil dispute between Federal Government, Kurdistan RegionBaghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristani, emphasized the necessity of settling the dispute between the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding exporting the oil to Turkey.

Shahrestani’s media office quoted his as saying during a seminar held at the Iraqi Institute for Economic Reform in Baghdad received by IraqiNews.com ”We did not reach a united national resolution related to export the oil from Kurdistan Region since the Ministry of Oil did not receive an contracts in this regard, though all participated side aware that the oil is owned by all Iraqis and the only side authorized to export it is the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company where the Oil revenues should be distributed among the Iraqi province in accordance to the State Budget.”

”The International Transparency Organization set the file of Iraq at the top of its report,” the statement added, noting that ”The Federal Government should settle this issue with Kurdistan Region in the favor of all Iraqis.”
