Basra tribes council threatens to boycott elections

Basra (IraqiNews.com) The Chairman of Basra Tribes Council, Sheikh Raed al-Fareji, threatened to boycott the elections if the members of the Parliament insisted to get the special privileges within pension general law.

Fareji stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) ”The pension law includes many items that serve the citizens, but we are surprised of the politicians who objected the special privileges and voted for the 38th article which granted them the special privileges.”

Fareji considered granting the special privileges as “a waste for public funds and injustice for the Iraqi people,” where he demanded the political blocs to “exclude the politicians who voted for this item in particular.”
