Mortar shells hit northern Hilla

Babel (IraqiNews.com) An officer within the Iraqi Army Golden Division was killed while nine other elements were injured in a mortar attack on Friday.

Security source stated to IraqiNews.com “An armed group attacked the elements of the Division with mortar shells.”

“The force imposed a curfew in al-Fadhiliya, sandeej areas and al-Abid village and launched a military operation to pursue the gunmen behind the attack,” the source concluded.
