Zebari, Tunisian Ambassador discuss mutual relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari met on April 7, 2014, Mr. Samir Jamae Abdullah Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia in Iraq.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “During the meeting, they discussed ways to develop and strengthen Iraqi – Tunisian relations, and agreed to activate the work of the Joint Ministerial Commission between the two countries which will hold its next meeting in Baghdad, and work on completing the technical procedures to open a direct air route between Baghdad and Tunisia, and welcoming opening air route between Erbil and Tunisia during the next days.”

“Minister Zebari welcomed the willingness of the Tunisian government to open branches of Iraqi banks in Tunisia and providing facilities to support this step to support Tunisian businessmen. Minister Zebari also discussed the following up of issue of the detainees with the Iraqi Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Judicial Council,” the statement added.

“The meeting was attended by Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for bilateral relations, the head of the Arab Dept. and the Director of the Minister’s Office,” the statement concluded.
