Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari discussed on Saturday with his Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh in Amman the bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region, especially the crisis in Syria. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by Iraqi News cited “The two sides discussed the importance of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the neighboring countries of Syria, which will be held in Al- Zaatari camp on Sunday with the participation of the High Commissioner of the United Nations for Refugees Antonio Guterres.” “The two sides stressed the depth of the bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields and joint keenness on cooperation and consultation on various issues of mutual interest,” the statement added.

“They emphasized the importance of reaching a political solution to the situation in Syria with the participation of all components of the Syrian people, and the importance that the international community hold its responsibility to help and support the neighboring countries that receive hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees and the tremendous burden borne by these countries as a result of the influx of these refugees,” the statement concluded.
