Dulaimi, US officials discuss security situation in Anbar

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Acting Defense Minister Sadoun al-Dulaimi, discussed on Sunday with the commander of the U.S. Central forces Lloyd Austin and Assistant of the U.S. Secretary of State Brett MacCorck, the security and military operations in Anbar province.

A statement by the Ministry of Defense received by IraqiNews.com cited “The meeting was held to talk about the security operations, especially those that take place in Fallujah area.”

For his part, Gen. Austin said that the United States supports the efforts of the Iraqi government in its fight against the ISIL and al-Qaeda, and is ready to meet the needs of the Iraqi armed forces in terms of training and armament, and equipment to develop their potential in the fight against terrorist organizations,” the statement concluded.
