Granting Maliki a 3rd term will end Shiite relations with Sunni, Kurds says al-Nijaifi

Nijaifi: "Granting 3rd term for Maliki to end Shiite relations with Sunni, Kurds"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The leader of the Mutahidoun Alliance and Governor of Nineveh, Atheel al-Nijaifi, pointed out that “If the Shiite agreed to grant a third term for Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki then it sends a clear message to Sunnis and Kurds of their will to end peaceful coexistence in Iraq.”

Nijaifi mentioned on his personal account on Facebook “If the State of Law Coalition adhered to its condition and the rest of the Shiite political entities to grant a third for Maliki as a PM it sends a clear message for the Sunni and Kurds that Shiite reject peaceful coexistence with them.”

“The results of the elections denote that the blocs which have patriotic affiliations have become a minority in front of sectarian blocs,” he added, noting that “The new case makes us think of forming a region with enough authorities to forbid domination of politicized security forces and judiciary.”
