Barzani emphasizes necessity of settling pending issues in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani confirmed on Friday during a meeting with French President Francois Hollande in Paris that it is necessary to settle the pending issues by the Iraqi Government.

A statement by Kurdistan Regional Government received by Iraqi News cited “Barzani confirmed that the Iraqi elections are a chance for the return of Iraq to the path of real democratic and federal process.”

“Barzani assured that Iraq is heading toward the unknown, unless it follows this path.,” the statement added.

“Barzani discussed with Hollande bilateral relations and the security situation and the parliamentary elections in Iraq,” the statement continued.

“The two sides discussed relations between France and the Kurdistan region, and the French president confirmed on the need to increase the French companies that invest in the region and expand its activities in the future,” the statement concluded.
