14 civilians killed, inured northern Babel

Babel (IraqiNews.com) Four persons were killed and ten others injured, most of them children and women, due to mortar shelling on houses located northern Babel.

Security source from the Iraqi Army 8th Division reported to IraqiNews.com on Saturday evening “Unidentified gunmen launched 15 mortar shells targeting the houses of Saeedat Tribe located in Jurf al-Sakher district (60 km) to the northwest of Hilla city,” noting that “The explosion of the mortar shells resulted in killing four women and children and injuring ten others.”

“Security forces hurried to the attacked location to transport the injuries for hospital for treatment and imposed a curfew to forbid the gunmen from escape,” the source concluded.
