Over 1000 Iraqis killed during the past 2 weeks – United Nations

(Iraqinews.com) The United Nations announced on Tuesday that more than a thousand people have been killed in Iraq during the period of June 5 to June 21, which saw the invasion of the organization of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, ISIL, on large areas of Iraq.

A spokesman for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Rupert Colville said, in a news conference in Geneva, that 1075 people were killed, at least in this period, mostly civilians, and 658 others were injured. The international official stressed that these figures are the minimum number of victims.
