Maliki meets Iran’s National Security Council Secretary General

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki received at his official office the Secretary General of the National Security Council of Iran, Ali Shamkhani and the accompanied delegation.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by Iraqi News cited “The talks during the meeting focused on the latest security and political developments in Iraq and in the region.”

“Both sides emphasized the need to boost coordination and cooperation between the two countries as well to be able to face challenges,” the statement concluded.
