Jordan accused of supporting Iraqi opposition by Iraqi Ministry of Transportation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Transportation claimed that Jordan’s suspension of flights to Iraq supports opponents of the political process in Iraq.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Transportation, Kareem al-Nouri, stated to IraqiNews.com “The Jordanian Airways informed us over suspending its flights with Iraq till making sure of the safety and consulting its US counterpart.”

“The flights with Iraq are safe and only Jordan will lose from this decision and if it wants to support the opponents of the political process in Iraq by taking this decision, it will be their own issue that we do not want to interfere in,” he concluded.

For his part, the head of the Civil Flight Authority, Taher al-Shibli, stated “There are 30-40 flights between Iraq and Jordan where we will receive many proposals from other countries and this will benefit Iraq from the economic point of view.”
