Hashimi, US Ambassador discuss political, security updates in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The secretary general of Fadhila Islamic Party, Hashim al-Hashemi discussed with United States Ambassador in Baghdad, Robert Stephen Beecroft, security and political situation in Iraq.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by Iraqi News cited “The secretary-general expressed hope that the Iraqi National Alliance reaches to consensus on the nomination of its candidate for PM post during the constitutional period, and form a government of national unity for all the political blocs winning the election”.

“The two sides agreed on the importance of continued cooperation between Iraq and the United States to achieve the common interests of the two countries,” the statement concluded. /End/
