Iraq knocks Thailand 5 times to top group B within AFC U-14

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq smashed five past Thailand to claim the pole position in Group B setting up a daunting tie against hosts Iran in the semi-final of the AFC U-14 Championship 2014.

In the match played at the Mofateh Stadium, Mohanad Ali Kadhim continued his brilliant run in front of the goal by scoring two goals while Ali Kadhim, Abbas Mohsin and Ahmad Swadi also were on the score sheet.

Iraq remained unbeaten in Group B and bagged seven points from three matches to finish top while elsewhere in Hajibabaie Stadium, Korea Republic fought hard to edge Tajikistan 2-0 setting up another classic semi-final against traditional rival DPR Korea.

Iraq will face the host Iran next Monday in the semi-final. /End/
