Radhi named MVP of AFC U-14 Championship
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq’s dead-ball specialist captain Mohammed Radhi was adjudged as Abdulla Al-Dabal “Most Valuable Player’ of the AFC U-14 Championship 2014.”
Radhi captained the Iraq side which won the championship after registering a flawless 3-0 victory over DPR Korea on Wednesday’s final played at the Hajibabaei Stadium.
The midfielder surprised everyone with his dead-ball brilliance and went on to score four goals in the competition in which three were from the set-pieces.
“I enjoy taking free-kicks but it is not only free-kick which I focus, I do an overall training,” Radhi told IraqiNews.com.
He got a standing ovation from local Iran fans when he scored two perfectly-timed free-kicks from the same spot to dispose the host out from the competition in the semi-final.
He added one more goal in his personal tally in the final and this time it was a brilliant volley that went past DPR Korea goalie Kim Kum-song. /End/
