VIDEO: Iraq receives Russian Mi-28 “Night Hunter” helicopters
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Defense Ministry announced on Saturday that it had received Russian helicopters with “high flexibility” to be brought into service as a part of its war on terrorism against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, ISIS.
The Ministry said in a statement reported by IraqiNews.com that Iraq received Russian-made MI-28 ‘Night Hunter’ helicopters. These attack helicopters carry guided weapons, cannons and advanced navigational systems.
The statement did not mention the number of the helicopters delivered by Russia. “They will enter into the service to contribute to the war waged by the Iraq Armed Forces in order to eliminate the terrorist elements of the organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.”
