(IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon indicated that the formation of an international coalition to confront the organization of the Islamic state in Iraq and Syria does not require a resolution of the UN Security Council, while welcoming the formation of the new Iraqi government.

Ki-moon said in a press statement followed by IraqiNews.com “The formation of an international coalition to confront the organization ISIS does not necessarily require a decision instantaneously from the UN Security Council,” noting that “now, ISIS kills in a wild manner, and this is totally unacceptable.”

Ki-moon welcomed the formation of a new Iraqi government, “calling on Sunnis to play a moderate role and Shiites to engage in a comprehensive dialogue.”
