URGENT: Barwana city, Anbar recaptured by Iraqi Army says Ministry of Defense

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Defense said that the Iraqi forces retook the city of Barwana in Anbar Province located in western Iraq.

The ministry published photographs of what it said is the presence of government forces near the Haditha Dam, the second largest dam in Iraq.

A military spokesman for the Defense Ministry said that the security forces backed by helicopters regained control of the city after the battles with the Islamic State, adding that the fighting resulted the killing of many fighters of the organization ISIS, without specifying how many.
