(IraqiNews.com)The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced the release of UN soldiers from Fiji who were detained by the Nusra Front in the Golan Heights, two weeks ago.

This comes after Nusra Front published a video of the hostages; they said that they are expect to be released soon. The Video posted on the sites of Nusra on Twitter and YouTube on Wednesday, but it seems that the record was in the previous day. The video shows the troops in good condition and they are smiling and waving to the camera.

One soldier of the hostages, who appeared in the video, said “As you can see everyone in the safety and survival. We thank Nusra because it kept us safe, and we want to show you that we are not exposed to harm at all. We understand well the limited resources of Nusra. We are grateful for al-Nusra because it has fulfilled its promise and we will return to our homes.”

No confirmation has been received as to whether or not a ransom was paid to compel the release of the UN soldiers.
