Abtan, Larijani discuss mutual relations.
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Youth and Sport Minister, Abd al-Hussein Abtan, and the Head of the Iranian Shura Council, ALi Larijani discussed the bilateral relations.
A statement by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) received by IraqiNews.com cited “Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Iraqi Minister of Sports and the Youth Abd al-Hussein Abtan.
He said that the situation in Iraq and the entire region is very complicated, calling for fostering national unity among the Iraqi political parties to thwart the menaces of terrorism and violence. Larijnai expressed satisfaction with formation of new Iraqi government and said it is expected that it will lead to swift restoration of security and to deal with the terrorist groups in the country. Successful management of Iraqi politicians and formation of the new government would help alleviate sufferings of people, he said.The Islamic Republic of Iran will spare no effort to help restore security and stability in Iraq, Larijani said. He said that exchange of visits and views between the two governments officials and parliamentary delegations would be helpful to implement the agreements already inked. The Iraqi minister of sports and the youth, for his part, thanked the support extended by the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraqi nation and said Iran has always stood by the Iraqi government in campaign against terrorism and helped restore tranquility in the country and Iraqi nation will never forget.He called for expansion of political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries. /End/
