Washington, DC (IraqiNews.com) On Thursday the former American Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, warned that the so-called the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria poses a “direct threat” to the United States and Western countries.

Clinton said in remarks published by the Washington Post newspaper and followed by IraqiNews.com “The organization ISIS is stronger and better funded than al-Qaeda, and could constitute a direct threat to the United States and other Western countries if they didn’t arrest its encroachment.”

She added that “the organization ISIS represents a serious threat because it is the largest Jihadist military force in terms of funding and professionalism that we have seen ever seen,” noting that “it is more sophisticated and richer than al-Qaeda.”

Clinton indicated that “President Barack Obama was right to attack the militants who seized large areas of Iraq, Syria and slaughtered American and British hostages,” pointing out that “the organization will try to launch attacks against Western targets if it has the ability to do so”.
