Obama meets National Security Council on ISIL threat

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) President Obama spends Friday with national security aides on the challenges of the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant.

Obama travels to the State Department for a special meeting of the National Security Council on the Islamic State. Also known as ISIL, the militant group controls large parts of Iraq and Syria, and has threatened western interests.

The United States has conducted air strikes against ISIL positions, and is preparing to train Iraqi and Syrian forces to carry out operations on the ground./End/
