Sunnis have the right to form militia just as Shia and Kurds, says Chancellor of House Speaker
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, the Chancellor of the House Speaker, Wahda al-Jumaili affirmed, that Sunni tribes in Iraq own their right to form a paramilitary regular force to work closely with the Iraqi Army just as Shia and Kurds.
Al-Jumaili said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews, “Iraqi Sunni tribes have the right to form regular force with an international guarantee… A regular force which could work closely with the Iraqi Army just as the other militias.”
“There is no reason to fear from a Sunni militia working just as Shia’s armed clans or Kurdish Peshmerga,” she added.
