(IraqiNews.com) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, that it is not possible to get results in the fight against the ISIS organization only through air strikes, and called for the necessity of a ground operation with air support.

Erdogan said in the a statement after a meeting with Lithuanian President in Ankara, quoted by ‘Anatolia’ and followed by IraqiNews.com, that, “So far, there is no commitment from the coalition countries regarding the air embargo or the safe area, and this matter has been discussed with the our delegation. There is an agreement in terms of training and armament, but unfortunately no agreement on other matters until now. Since there is no agreement between the coalition countries, we cannot foresee proper steps in this regard.”

Turkish President explained, “There is no possibility of getting a result only through air strikes; ground operations are necessary and must be supported by air. The free army is ready to participate in this process if it receives the required support.”
