(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, a local source in Nineveh province revealed that the ISIS organization is intending to bomb historic mosques in Mosul, indicating that it emptied the building of the province of its contents as a prelude to blow it up as well.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “ISIS informed those in charge of a number of mosques to abandon as a prelude to detonate them in different parts of the city of Mosul,” explaining that, “These mosques include the Imam Muhsin Radwani, al-Amiriya, Ibrahim Hamou Qadaw, Sheikh Sha, al-Qtanin and al-Aabariqi mosques.”

The source, who asked not to be named, added, “All these mosques are more than a hundred years old and are known in the city as legacy of civilization, and do not include graves or tombs,” adding that, “ISIS emptied Nineveh governorate building of furniture and contents and transported them to an unknown location as a prelude to blow it up.”
